Sonic 1 Hayai is a specialized ROM hack of the original 1991 Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. The project's title, derived from the Japanese word for "fast," reflects its primary objective: a technical and visual overhaul designed to maximize the sensation of speed and "coolness" while strictly adhering to the technical limits of the 16-bit hardware.
